Finding Your Perfect Hair Color

Finding Your Perfect Hair Color

Finding the perfect hair color can be a bit tricky, especially when there are so many colors to choose from. It’s not as simple as black, brown, blonde, and red anymore. There are so many colors in between, which makes the decision even harder. Here are some tips that can help you decide which color is just right for you!

Finding Your Perfect Hair Color

1. Know Your Skin's Undertones

Your skin has either warm, cool, or neutral undertones and that is very important when choosing which color direction to go. If you don’t know your undertone, there’s a cool trick you can try! Take a look at your wrist and if your veins are more on the green side, then you have warm undertones. If they’re blue or purple, you have cool undertones. And if there’s not really a color and blends in with your skin, then that means you have neutral undertones. People with warm undertones should go for shades like chestnut, dark auburn, or rich chocolate. Cool undertones should do gold, caramel, or honey shades. And our neutral undertone people can go with jet black, espresso, or blue-black.

    2. Check Out a Celeb

If you’re not too sure about your undertones, you can always find a celebrity with a similar skin tone and look at the hair colors they’ve had over the years. Maybe you have warm undertones like Beyonce or JLo. Or neutral like Selena Gomez and Kerry Washington. How about cool undertones like Anne Hathaway and Mindy Kaling? There are so many public figures to look at from actors and singers to social media influencers and internet personalities. Find someone and see what color hair they’re working with.

      3. Your Eyes!

Your eye color may help you find the hair color for you. Eye color can assist in making your hair color look natural, as if you were born with it. Deep browns and burgundy are ideal for blue eyes, especially if you want them to “pop”. Green eyes are paired nicely with rich brown, coppery red, and a soft blonde. Golden browns, coopers, and ashy or strawberry blonde will look best with brown eyes. For hazel eyes, warm colors like hazelnut and rich auburns will make those golden flakes in the eyes stand out.
